Young Suhr started the company as a wagon jobber originally known as Auto Parts Unlimited.

June 1974
 

Purchased a store building in Los Angeles which became the first location for Auto Parts Unlimited.

Incorporated Auto Parts Warehouse, Inc.

Purchased Knox-Seeman Auto Parts in Gardena, California (12,000 square feet). Incorporated A.P.W. Knox-Seeman Warehouse, Inc.

Developed a complete computerized management system to run company operations.

November 1990
 

Purchased property adjacent to the Gardena store and added a 24,000 square feet warehouse to make it a total of 36,000 square feet of warehouse space.

June 1992
 

Developed a remote ordering system enabling computer connectivity between APW and its customers.

Received Special Recognition Award from Fram Company. ($1,000,000 sales).

Opened first satellite warehouse (Pronto I) in Los Angeles, California (15,000 square feet).

Began donating funds to a charity organization with plans to donate more funds on behalf of each location as they open (As of 2007, APW has 8 locations and is currently donating over $30,000 per year to different organizations).
